Photos: Calabasas High Jazz Opens Jazz Festival at Hollywood Bowl

The 19-member band was the first group outside of the LA school district to be invited to open the annual jazz festival.

The Jazz "A" Band celebrated Father's Day by opening the 2012 Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday. 

It was the first time in the jazz festival's history that a group from outside of the Los Angeles school district was invited to participate.

The 19 band members under the direction of Joshua Barroll, included several who had just graduated a few days prior.

They performed on the iconic stage following an introduction by festival host Bill Cosby. 

Prior to their taking the stage, the legend Bill Cosby gave the band an inspirational talk about confidence.

As the stage rotated around to reveal the band to the audience of several thousand fans, the band opened their set with "Make 'Em Wait" (Les Hooper), followed by "Everything in its Right Place (Radiohead) and "Howdiz Songo?" (Gordon Goodwin).  

Band members include Michael Aspinwall, Caitlin Butterworth, Ryan Chen, Chloe Drazen, Andrew Dubick, Noah Davidson, Kevin Hakimi, Kevin Kasimov, Courtney Kelsberg, Julian Kirsch, Gabriel Lee, Lachlan Lewis, Elijah Martinez,James Martinez, Russell Muller, Nick Rosario, Nadav Senensieb, Michael Tsang and Henry Vaughn.
