Calabasas Public Facilities To Require Vaccination

CALABASAS, CA — Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result will be required to enter public facilities in Calabasas starting Monday.

The executive order will require all individuals over age 18 to show proof of vaccination or a negative test from with the last 72 hours to enter city hall, the swim and tennis center, the senior center, library, DeAnza Park interior and Creekside park.

The city considered the vaccination requirement for over a month, including a lengthy discussion at the city's Dec. 1 council meeting. There was a consensus in December among council members to instate the requirement, with most council members only showing concern about properly training staff.

The city's discussion involved a thorough look at other cities' similar mandates, including West Hollywood, Culver City and Los Angeles.
