College Students Burglarized; Two Albertsons Shoplifted

Two separate cases of college students being robbed reported; shoplifter walks away with more than a dozen bottles of tequila and vodka.

College students looted

About $6,600 in electronics was stolen from a residence in the 5500 block of Parkmor Rd. that was occupied by Pepperdine University students.

One of the victims said he returned home from school and saw from the outside that the bathroom window was open and its screen was removed.

Deputies say they believe the bathroom window was the point of entry for the burglar. The stolen belongings were removed from the victims’ bedrooms and the residence’s living room, authorities said.

Among the burglarized items were a white $1,300 HP Pavilion laptop decorated with a Sigma Phi sticker, a $400 SLR-D50 Nikon camera, a white $500 Epson projector, a Blue Ray Player, an X-Box 360 and an $800 black V6000 Compaq Prisario laptop.

Shoplifter strikes two area Albertsons

Authorities believe a shoplifter that stole bottles of liquor from the on Agoura Road committed a similar crime at the grocery store’s Westlake Village location on the same day.

The shoplifter entered the Calabasas Albertsons around 3:30 p.m. on March 4, according to deputies.

He proceeded to the liquor aisle, placed eight bottles of Cazadores Reposado Tequila, collectively valued at $431.88, in a shopping cart and tried to conceal them with a 12-pack of Charmin toilet paper.

The shoplifter then left the store with the cart and placed the alcohol in his vehicle, a red sports utility vehicle that strongly resembles a Dodge Durango, deputies said.

Authorities believe the same individual shoplifted an Albertsons in Westlake Village later that day. The shoplifter reportedly stole eight bottles of Grey Goose vodka and made off in a red Dodge Durango. The license plate number 6MDE404.

Deputies obtained surveillance footage of the burglary at the Calabasas Albertsons, but no suspect description has been made available yet.

Vehicle burglary at Tennis & Swim Center

A $300 black leather Kenneth Cole bag was stolen from a vehicle parked at the on Feb. 26.

The vehicle burglary occurred sometime between 3:40 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., according to sheriff’s deputies.

The burglar shattered the front passenger window to gain entry, authorities said.

The center does have surveillance cameras and the footage from the vehicle burglary will be provided to the sheriff’s station at a later date.

More college students burglarized

Nearly $2,000 in jewelry and more than $8,000 in electronics was stolen from a residence in the 26000 block of Veva Way that was rented out to college students.

The burglary occurred sometime between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Feb. 24., deputies said.

Deputies were unable to locate any signs of entry and the victims said they were certain the residence was secure when they left. There are no alarms or security cameras at the location.

An $800 half-karat diamond necklace, a pair of sterling silver earrings valued at $500 and a $250 mahogany jewelry box engraved with the initials “JH” were burglarized from one of the bedrooms.

A $1,000 Dell Latitude D830, three MacBook Pros and a Canon Powershot camera valued at $200 were among the stolen electronics.

Theft at Calabasas High locker room

A $750 silver-black Apple iPad was stolen from a locker at the boys locker room on March 2.

The burglary occurred sometime between 9:20 a.m. and 12:40 p.m., according to authorities.

The victim reported that he returned to his locker after lunch and said it was still secured by his lock. When he opened the locker, he noticed his iPad was gone.

Deputies said entry was likely made by, “pulling on the lock with enough force to bend the locker’s lock pins, allowing the locker to be opened.”
