CALABASAS, CA — Significant changes could be coming to The Commons, as developer Rick Caruso goes through the city permitting process with a plan to add new stores, restaurants and up to 119 apartments at the shopping center.

The plans call for the demolition of the Regency movie theater to make way for 2,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and five levels of apartments above, according to documents submitted to the city.

Also planned are the construction of four new buildings in The Commons' parking lot, which would house shops, restaurants and apartments.
