Corey Dillon Won't Face Abuse Charges

Prosecutors say there is insufficient evidence to show that the former NFL player's wife was injured.

Criminal charges will not be filed against former NFL running back Corey Dillon, who was arrested on May 1 on suspicion of abusing his wife, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said today.

"There is insufficient evidence of corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition for proof beyond a reasonable doubt," said Deputy District Attorney Mara McIlvain in a charge evaluation worksheet.

In the document, Desiree Antoine-Dillon had claimed that her husband "poured milk over her head, threw water on her and poured soy sauce on her."

Dillon said his wife was "throwing the liquids on him also and he never physically touched her," the worksheet read.

Antoine-Dillon said a small cut on her thumb was not a result of physical contact with him, according to the worksheet.

Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station responded to a call from Dillon's home on May 1 and said the two were arguing over a pending divorce and custody issues.

Dillon was arrested on April 21 for allegedly driving under the influence on Mulholland Highway. He awaits a June 21 court date in that incident.
