Breverman said he wants to eventually move on to a new business venture, but hasn't yet exactly decided what he's going to do.

He added that Rosti Tuscan Kitchen would be replacing Cosmos sometime in the fall.

Kevin Goldfein, owner of the Italian restaurant, which has locations in Santa Monica and Encino, was already on site on Tuesday overseeing major renovations.

He said he was in talks with Breverman for quite a while to overtake Cosmos' lease.

Breverman also said he ended his relationship with his leasing agent and property manager on a positive note.

"No hard feelings for anybody," he said. "I want to thank everybody in Calabasas who made us the neighborhood restaurant. We're going to miss it."

Pamela Craig, a real estate manager with CB Richard Ellis, Inc., the leasing agent and manager of the Courtyard at the Commons, declined to comment on Cosmos' closing.
