Coyotes Look to State Hoops Tournament

The CIF 3AA champs play host to a Bakersfield high school in a tourney for the state title.

Less than a week after clinching the CIF 3AA title, the boys basketball team will play host to Frontier (18-10) of Bakersfield Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a first-round game of the CIF State Basketball Championship tournament.

The Coyotes (27-3) are seeded No. 3 heading into their next match. Calabasas routed South High last Thursday 69-39 and cruised to their first ever CIF division championship. The Coyotes outscored South High 25-2 in the first quarter alone.

Point guard Jeremy Lieberman scored a team-high 15 points that game, while Holden Israel contributed 14.
