Flash Flood Warning Issued for Calabasas

A flash flood warning is in effect for Calabasas.

The National Weather Service issued the warning at 5:36 p.m. and expects it to last through 7:45 p.m.

Heavy rains have showered the area throughout Sunday, with as much as an inch of rain per hour in cities like Malibu, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts in Calabasas have been as high as 45 mph.

Flooding is predicted for roadways, including the 101 Freeway, from Calabasas to Reseda and Malibu to Pacific Palisades, the weather service stated.

"Rock slides and mud slides are likely to affect Pacific Coast Highway and Canyon Roads through the Santa Monica Mountains," the warning read.

The National Weather Service predicts the heavy rain to last through Monday morning around 11 a.m.
