Fourth Suspect In Calabasas Home-Invasion Robbery Still At Large

CALABASAS, CA – Three documented gang members are due in court at the end of this week after they were accused of stealing more than $200,000 in jewelry and other property in a mid-afternoon home-invasion robbery in Calabasas. The fourth suspect remains at large, authorities said Wednesday.

On Aug. 24, investigators released home surveillance video recorded during the Aug. 6 crime and got tips that resulted in the arrests of Vernell White, 44, of Los Angeles, Michael Robinson, 39, of Compton, and Carl DeLoach, 30, of Los Angeles, according to the sheriff's department.

They were booked on suspicion of various offenses, including home-invasion robbery and kidnapping for the purposes of robbery, and remain in custody in lieu of $2.1 million bail pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday in Van Nuys.

"All three men are documented South Los Angeles criminal street gang members," according to a sheriff's statement. "The three suspects are alleged to have forced their way into the residence of the victims ... (who) were bound with zip ties as the suspects pillaged the home for valuables."

The fourth suspect remains unidentified.

The crime in the 22500 block of Charlestown Drive is being investigated by the sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau Burglary-Robbery Task Force.
