Camper Found Shot To Death In Tent With Daughters, 2 And 4
The body was discovered Friday morning at Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas.

CALABASAS, CA – A man in his 20s was fatally shot Friday morning at a campground in Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Detectives are searching for whoever shot him. The man died at the scene of the shooting, which was reported 4:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of Las Virgenes Road when deputies responded to a shots fired call, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The victim was shot once in the upper chest and was pronounced dead at the scene, homicide detectives said. His name was withheld, pending notification of kin.
The man, who was camping with his two daughters, 2 and 4 years old, was inside a tent when he was shot, Lt. Rodney Moore told KTLA. The girls were uninjured and were taken to a station to be interviewed by detectives, according to KTLA. Police have not said whether or not they are actively looking for a shooter, and declined to say whether one of the children or the father fired the gun.

There is no suspect information or known motive for the crime. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available.
