Judge Tosses Detail's Assault Lawsuit Against Drake

Drake's former producer alleges the singer's bodyguard broke his jaw during a confrontation at Drake's Calabasas home.

CALABASAS, CA – Drake won dismissal of a lawsuit brought by the singer's former collaborator and producer Noel Fisher, who alleged Drake's bodyguard broke his jaw during a confrontation at the singer's Calabasas home in 2014. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elaine Lu tossed plaintiff Fisher's suit on Friday after he failed to show up for a final status conference. Fisher is also known as Detail.

Fisher alleged Drake invited him to his home on June 26, 2014, to possibly work on some new music. He then alleged Drake's bodyguard, Nessell Beezer, who is also known as Chubbs, punched him and broke his jaw.

The suit alleged Drake and Beezer were angry with Fisher, who was nominated for three Grammy Awards in 2015, for refusing Drake's offer to be his exclusive producer and that the plaintiff was lured to the home under false pretenses.

Drake watched the confrontation from a few feet away and did not intervene to stop it, the suit alleged. Beezer maintained he acted in self-defense.
