Las Virgenes Road Reopened After Injury Crash

One victim is airlifted to an area hospital.

A two-car crash on Las Virgenes Road sent at least one person to the hospital and closed down the street for about two hours Thursday morning, authorities reported. 

One person was airlifted to a hospital following the head-on collision, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The accident was reported at 9:23 a.m. and occurred between Mulholland Highway and Lost Hills Road, said Sgt. Derrick Alfred. Both lanes were shut down until about 11:30 a.m.

Firefighters extracted one victim from a vehicle that had rolled over, Alfred said. That person was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills with head and neck injuries, he said.

There was one person in each of the vehicles, Alfred said.

He said deputies were still investigating the cause of the accident.
