Leo Carrillo State Beach Habitat Restoration - 12/19/2015

Leo Carrillo State Beach Habitat Restoration Volunteer Event with Mountains Restoration Trust on December 19, 2015 from 9:00am-11:45am.

Come join Mountains Restoration Trust at Leo Carrillo State Beach at 9:00am to restore habitat for steelhead trout. Arroyo Sequit Creek that runs through Leo Carrillo and is one of the furthest south creeks used by the endangered fish. We will be restoring habitat by removing non-native invasive plants that degrade water quality.

Registration is Required: We have a limited amount of volunteer spots, so please register for the event on our Eventbrite page here.

Great Fun for Kids and Families! Volunteers under the age of 18 must fill out and bring this form, and volunteers under 16 must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What to bring: Even though we’ll be by the beach, it might still be a little sunny out so make sure to bring plenty of water. Long pants, long sleeves, a hat, sunscreen and sturdy shoes are highly recommended. Gloves and tools will be provided, but you should bring your own work gloves if you have them.

Directions and parking. Leo Carrillo is right off of PCH (about 8 miles west of Kanan). Keep a lookout for MRT event/parking signs. Parking is free for volunteers! And after the event you can stay the rest of the day and enjoy our beautiful beach!
