Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Machine Gun Possession
Some 40 pounds of marijuana were seized and a 35-year-0ld man was arrested on suspicion of of possessing a fully automatic handgun.
WOODLAND HILLS, CA — A 35-year-old man was arrested Friday after police served a search warrant at an illegal marijuana grow operation in Woodland Hills, where they found a machine gun, officials said.
The warrant was served just after 10 a.m. at the 23000 block of Cass Avenue, near Mulholland Drive, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
John Abbot was found in a bedroom of the home, where several people were detained, cited and later released, police said. Officers searched the room Abbot was in and found 11 ghost guns, 27 high-capacity magazines and a weapon equipped with a "Glock switch," making the firearm fully automatic, officials said.

A small cannabis grow was also located in the garage of the home, where 40 pounds of illegally grown marijuana were found, police said.
Abbot was arrested on suspicion of possessing a fully automatic handgun. He was booked into the Van Nuys Community Police Station jail in lieu of $35,000 bail, according to police.
