Man Checking Car Doors Arrested In Calabasas, Items Seized

A man was arrested on multiple firearm charges, false ID to a peace officer, possession of stolen property and more.

CALABASIS, CA — A man who was seen checking car doors in Calabasas on last month was arrested, police said.

On Jan. 24 around 10:30 p.m., deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station were approached by a resident who witnessed a man lifting car door handles along Las Virgenes Road, according to a Facebook post from the station.

Deputies surveyed the area and later found a man matching the description given. During their search, deputies found an un-serialized, loaded handgun on the suspect and an assortment of stolen phones, a laptop and other various devices.

The man, whose identity was not released, was arrested on multiple firearm charges, including felon in possession of a firearm and giving a false form of identification to a police officer, officials said.
