Quarter-Acre Burns in Brush Fire off Mulholland Highway

The fire was sparked first by a car fire.

A quarter-acre brush fire was touched off by a burning vehicle in the Santa Monica Mountains near Calabasas today.

The fire was reported at 2:47 p.m. in the 13000 block of Mulholland Highway, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher said.

The car fire was put out by 3:03 p.m. and the brush fire was extinguished by 3:52 p.m., the dispatcher said.
