SEVEN SIGNS YOU NEED AN ASSISTANT

Is Your "To Do" List Not Just Out of Control - But Beyond Control?

Look, we know life moves fast, but do you feel like you doing more sinking than swimming? Do you sometimes wish you had a clone, a mini-me, or a wife of your own? Here’s how you can tell it’s really time to find yourself an assistant:

  1. The receipts you’ve been holding onto for tax time have taken on a life of their own. You’re afraid to open your receipt file and are pretty sure it’s just become a Chipotle napkin dumping ground.
  2. Three months ago, you said you were going to clean out the attic/closet/garage, but you’re still looking at those brand-new skis/roller blades/Guthy-Renker gadgets that were the first steps to the New You . . . 10 years ago.
  3. You still have returns from the holidays and are just too ashamed to take them back to the store. And who even knows where the receipts are?
  4. You’ve given up on keeping any sort of calendar and have taken to writing down appointments, meetings, and social outings on sticky notes. And, well, the sticky notes aren’t so sticky any more. Plus, they seem to breed like rabbits!
  5. Rover has been sitting by the door every night for the past two weeks, leash in mouth, begging for a real walk. The garage door-to-garbage cans circuit isn’t cutting it anymore.
  6. You have a hundred errands that need running, BUT between the kids, work, and life in general, they don’t seem to get done, no matter how much you try to think them done. At this point, it’s a good bet that Grandma is never going to get her thank you note and Bob down the block is never going to get his hammer back either.
  7. You don’t even bother to look at your To Do list anymore. It’s gone from one neat list to an unmanageable and seemingly endless scroll. Paper, digital – it’s just doesn’t matter anymore.

If you recognize yourself in more than two of these items, it’s time to delegate. Personal assistants are affordable and more accessible than ever. Take the plunge; your life will never be the same! But in a good way!
