
A 35-day streak of falling prices ended Tuesday when the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent to $4.181.
The average price decreased 18.6 cents during the streak, the longest since a 42-day streak that ended on Dec. 23, according to figures from the AAA
and Oil Price Information Service.
Despite the end of the streak, the average price is 2.1 cents less than a week ago, 16 cents lower than one month ago and 8.9 cents below what it was one year ago.

The declining pump prices stem from a steep decrease to the wholesale gasoline price, Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
