[VIDEO] Mock DUI Crash Has Emotional Impact
Calabasas High students are presented with a harsh reminder of the dangers of drinking and driving.
The sound of a two-car collision in front of Monday drew students from their classes as they came to view a grisly scene.
They saw their own classmates being pulled from the wreckage of a fatal DUI crash, but fortunately this sight was staged as a stark reminder for teen drivers.
The mock accident was a part of the Every 15 Minutes program, named after the statistic that every 15 minutes someone from the age of 16 to 20 dies in an alcohol-related vehicle crash.

Local fire fighters and sheriff's deputies worked the scene as if it were a real accident, adding more realism to the simulation.
The drunk driver who caused the audience was found to be intoxicated after a field sobriety test and subsequently arrested.
