VIDEO: Trying on FaceCake's Virtual Dressing Room
Swivel lets shoppers try on clothes with the help of a video camera, TV screen and motion sensor.
It happens to all of us. Shopping for clothes can be fun, but heading to the dressing room to try on a dozen shirts or dresses can get annoying.
Calabasas businesswoman Linda Smith, founder and CEO of FaceCake Marketing Technologies, has developed a program that allows shoppers to try on clothes without having to get undressed.
Swivel lets shoppers see themselves on screen, then with the help of a motion sensor, one can use their hand to select an article of clothing. Once selected, an image of a dress or a suit is projected onscreen over the shopper's body.
