Viewpoint's Football Team Falls To Winless Flintridge Prep on Senior Day

The Patriots slip to 2-5-1 after the Prep League loss on Friday.

It was senior day Friday at , one last chance to make a final impression at home.

But it wasn't necessarily a good one, as things turned out, as the host Patriots (2-5-1)  lost 35-0 to Flintridge Prep (1-6-1) in a Prep League game.

"What can I say? We didn't come to play which is a bit surprising because I thought the kids were ready for this game,'' coach Chris Adamson said. "We were prepared, not sure what happened. We're not going to hang our heads and mope around though. We will take a day off and come back stronger. You can count on that.''

Viewpoint's Alex Satnick was twice intercepted in the first half, as Flintridge Prep built a 21-point halftime lead.

"We had a chip on our shoulders and wanted to prove our worth to our fans today, but things didn't work out. We never clicked as a team,'' Satnick said. "Football is a game of ups and downs. Losses are inevitable. We're a resilient group though.''

Satnick connected with Drew Johnston on a long pass to the 15, but the drive stalled on a failed fourth-and-4 when Adam Markun was tackled for a loss with seven minutes left.

"This was a tough ways for our senior to go out,'' Adamson said.

Sophomore Adam Markun rushed for 65 yards, and he is among the underclassmen who will be back.

"It was a tough way to lose, especially for the older guys,'' Markun said. "My goal was to run hard and try to get my teammates a win. If we were going to lose, I wanted to try and punish the other team at the end of my runs, make them remember me. We can learn a lot from this game, regardless if the score was a little one-sided.''
