Witness Says Hit-and-Run Driver Caused Fatal 101 Freeway Crash

Gilani Taylor, 27, lost control of her vehicle when she was sideswiped by a white SUV, witness reportedly tells California Highway Patrol.

A witness has come forward saying that a hit-and-driver caused a crash on the 101 Freeway on Saturday that killed a 9-year-old girl and badly burned her 27-year-old mother, KTLA reports.

Oxnard resident Gilani Taylor's 1995 Chrysler sedan rolled over on the southbound at about 8:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said their best witness, who was driving behind Taylor's car, stated that a white SUV sideswiped Taylor's vehicle, causing the Chrysler to swerve out of control.
