Zimring Says Goodbye

The superintendent of Las Virgenes Unified schools leaves for a new job in August.

City officials and community members gathered at Lake Calabasas on Sunday and bid farwell to outgoing Las Virgenes Unified Superintendent Donald Zimring, who is leaving to head a private school in the Bay Area.

Zimring first came to the district 37 years ago as a teacher at Lindero Canyon Middle School. In the years that followed, he served as principal of , assistant superintendent and finally, in 2007, he was promoted to superintendent.

He will begin his new job in the Bay Area as the head of Brandeis Hillel Day School in August.
