A Self-Propelled Diesel Railcar Runs Through Campbell
A black and white image taken 16 years ago of a new type of transportation.

This week's history photo is another look at transportation in the Orchard City.
On December 20, 1996, the RegioSprinter, built by the Siemens Transportation Systems, made a series of demonstration runs on the former Southern Pacific Vasona Branch.
The unique self-propelled diesel railcar is crossing Campbell Avenue in Campbell, returning to Water Tower Plaza after a trip to San Jose.
