SAN JOSE, CA — A 53-year-old man was arrested on allegations of breaking into a San Jose business twice and stealing and damaging electric vehicle charging equipment.
Michael Haverman was taken into custody on May 21 after an investigation by the San Jose Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit identified him as a suspect in the thefts of equipment valued at about $50,000, the Police Department said on Friday.
The alleged thefts occurred at a parking lot of a business in the unit block of Great Oaks Boulevard on March 30 and May 10 of this year.
Multiple electric vehicle chargers and related equipment were allegedly taken and others were damaged, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Haverman was allegedly linked to the crimes by the vehicle police said was used in both thefts.
He was booked into Santa Clara Main Jail on allegations of grand theft and felony vandalism.
