Serial Armed Robber Arrested In San Jose: Police

Police allege the suspect committed at least six armed robberies around San Jose.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man suspected in a series of armed robberies in San Jose was arrested, police said Thursday.

On June 18 just after 1:30 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at a business in the 5800 block of Camden Avenue in San Jose, according to police. According to investigators, a man entered the business and pointed a gun at the employee. The robber took cash and fled the scene before police arrived.

Detectives connected this crime to several others throughout the city at smoke shops, motels and convenience stores over June and July.

The crime spree included businesses in the 2300 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard on June 30, the 1300 block of Blossom Hill Road on July 15, the 5800 block of Camden Avenue on July 17, the 2500 block of Fontaine Road on July 18, and a business located in the 2400 block of Alvin Road on July 20.

Detectives identified Andrew Fiddler, 35, as the primary suspect and an arrest and search warrant was issued for him and his residence. A subsequent search of his home allegedly uncovered evidence of the crimes.

Fiddler was booked into jail on suspicion of armed robbery.
