• San Jose police ID armed suspect killed in shootout that left officer injured (ktvu.com) — A Campbell man, 39-year-old Anthony Chavez, was identified as the suspect killed after allegedly shooting and critically injuring San Jose police Sgt. Matt Walsh during a standoff inside an unsuspecting family's home. Police say Chavez was wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle and multiple recent armed robberies, and that he had a lengthy violent criminal history and prior prison sentence before his release last year.
