• SJPD sergeant released from hospital after being wounded in shootout with armed suspect (ktvu.com) — A San Jose police sergeant wounded in a shootout with an armed robbery suspect is now home from the hospital, and investigators say the man killed in the exchange was a 39-year-old Campbell resident. Police allege he stole an SUV, committed multiple robberies, fled into a family's home, and opened fire before officers shot him, underscoring regional safety concerns for Campbell-area residents.
   

• TLC will manage Rose Center (orangecountytribune.com) — A Westminster city panel actually ranked a Campbell-based Latin-Asian hospitality group as the top choice to run the Rose Center Theater, but the council instead directed staff to negotiate with TLC Inc. to convert the venue into a multicultural center.
