Woman Hid From Cops In Bathroom Crawlspace At San Jose State: Police
Police learned the woman had crawled up a hatch above the bathroom when they deployed a robot to the scene, authorities said.

SAN JOSE, CA — A woman hid from police in the crawlspace above a bathroom at a library on the San Jose State University campus after she was spotted with a gun that turned out to be fake, according to authorities.
The incident began shortly after 10 a.m., when a custodian at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library saw a woman in a bathroom stall with what he thought was a pistol, campus police said. The custodian notified library security, the building was evacuated and police responded to the scene, according to authorities.
With the aid of a robot from the San Jose Police Department, law enforcement determined the woman had crawled up a hatch above the bathroom, authorities said. She refused to come down, but eventually relented and was taken into custody, according to police, who said the gun was found to be a replica. Charges are pending, police said, noting the woman is not affiliated with the university, which is on holiday break.
