Assistant Principal At Bay Area Middle School Tried To Meet Minor For Sex: Police
Police say the suspect thought he was meeting a 13-year-old boy but was instead arrested.

SAN JOSE, CA ā An assistant principal at a Bay Area Middle School has been arrested on suspicion of trying to meet a minor for sex, police said.
Police say Ruben Guzman, 31, started to talk online with an undercover officer he thought was a 13-year-old boy. At some point during their conversations, Guzman, told the officer that he "wanted to engage in sexual acts," according to the San Jose Police Department.
Guzman then tried to offer the officer money and arranged to pick them up, police said.

When Guzman arrived at what he thought would be the child's home, he was taken into custody on suspicion of seeking minors online to engage in a lewd or lascivious acts, authorities said.
Guzman, an assistant principal at Sunrise Middle School, was one of 11 people arrested in what was a larger police operation targeting adults seeking minors online for sex ahead of Super Bowl LX, according to CBS News.

"The school administration was notified and is fully cooperating with the investigation," the San Jose Police Department said. "Because the suspect was employed in a position of trust working with children at the time of arrest, ICAC Detectives believe there may be additional victims."
