I’m up and ready to work at in Campbell. I guess I told you about my beautiful bike that some low-life, brain dead, no respect pee brain that took my bike from my camp site.
Well, I showed up at the Farmers Market Sunday after a mile ride on the light rail from Fruitdale Station knowing that I would make plenty of money to purchase another used bike so I can get around at a more comfortable pace, especially that my work project for my GA (general assistance) welfare money $150 by working three days at the park, five to six hours each day, it’s easy work and a nice park to walk about as I work.
When I approached Campbell Avenue, nearing , my friend Richard Martinez came toward me and said I’ve got a bike for you. He told me that it was a Road Master, 18-speed, 15-inch frame made by Sears. I said, ‘Yes!” how much for the bike? He said, don’t worry about it. It would take care of it. I couldn’t believe Richard’s kindness, especially when he’s on a fixed income. I insisted on giving him money but he would refuse. I guess he figured it would come back to him one way or another. That’s the kind of friendship we have.

I’m loving it and bolting it down. I’m securing it at my bed down or when I go to the store I lock it, or whatever. Bringing Richard things to help him out anyway I can. The thought alone on what he did is a great, kind thing to do. That is a true friend. And I will respect for the rest of my life, or his anyway. For a few minor adjustments and some oil, I’m in tune with my Road Master.
I’m feeling really good about life and keep reminding what kindness does whenever you practice it whenever possible. It’s the right way to be and in my opinion it’s the only way to be. Unfortunately, we have some sick, thieving humans out there that are watching for that right moment to take something from someone for their own financial gain without feeling any remorse for what they have done to that other person.
