Campbell's Newest Civic Art- Beauty or Beast?

This Campbell couple is divided over the new civic sculptures on the E. Campbell Ave. bridge. What do YOU think?

Hello Campbell, here's our first blog post!

As a couple we agree on most things, but Campbell's isn't one of them.

We eagerly anticipated the completion of the East Campbell Avenue "Gateway to Downtown" project after living with torn up streets for almost two years (we live one block from ). We're very happy with the wider bridge, sidewalks and bike lane between Downtown and the . The art, however, has us divided:

Darlene: I like their simplicity and symbolism. They're fine. Art is subjective, you can't please everybody.

David: Huh? That's art? It looks like the unfinished base for the real art- when are they going to put a sculpture or ball on top?

OK, we all know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But when you have a strong opinion it can be hard to imagine that anyone would disagree with you and you're surprised when they do.

As the founders of our goal is to stay connected in relationship and work together even when we don't agree. If we agreed there wouldn't be a problem in the first place and it'd be easy, or as Darlene says "If we agreed on everything we'd be the same person!"

So what do YOU think of our newest civic art- beauty or beast?
