CACCC Hosts Free Virtual 15 Yr Celebration: A Year to be Mindful

CACCC Hosts Free Virtual 15 Year Celebration of Compassion in Action: A Year to be Mindful, a series of educational programs

September 21, 2020 – San Jose CA – The Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC) hosts a series of free virtual educational events in celebration of 15 years of Compassion in Action: A Year to be Mindful, held virtually in Southern and Northern California and New York. The educational series includes a professional healthcare forum (Friday, October 16* from 10a-12p PST) conducted in English and a community education event (Saturday, October 17** from 10a-12n PST) that will be emceed in Mandarin with simultaneous English interpretation. The forum keynote speaker, this year, is the renowned palliative care physician, Cynthia Pan, MD, Chief, Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine from New York Presbyterian Queens (NYPQ) and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical Hospital, who will share her insights and experiences on COVID-19, as a patient, palliative care physician and medical educator during this historic pandemic. Other featured speakers include: CACCC founder Sandy Chen Stokes, RN, MSN; Suncrest Hospice, San Francisco Bay Area, hospice medical director Gary Lee, MD; Zen Caregiving Project (ZCP), San Francisco, executive director Roy Remer, and CACCC’s Mindful Self-Care for Caregivers project lead Teresa Cheng.

*Friday, October 16 free virtual forum, conducted in English, offers two (2.0 CE’s) contact hours for healthcare professionals.
