Campbell's Ainsley House To Host Larry Hancock, Director of Opera San Jose

The upcoming event is part of the Historic Happy Hour lecture series. Seating is limited.

The Ainsley House is excited to announce the History Happy Hour lecture series at the Ainsley House will host Larry Hancock, Opera San José General Director on June 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A founding member of the Opera San José staff, Larry Hancock was the director of public and media relations in 1983, marketing director in 1985, and artistic administrator in 1989 before becoming the director of marketing and development in 1991. After serving as marketing/development director for 15 years, Hancock was appointed General Manager for Opera San José in 2006. Upon General Director Irene Dalis’ retirement in June 2014, Hancock assumed the role of General Director of Opera San José.

Hancock will speak on Opera History and his role as one of the founding members of the Opera San Jose staff. He will take the audience through the choices a director must make in selecting composers, talent, costuming and more. The evening will be an intimate and inside experience into the world of the critically acclaimed Opera San Jose.

History Happy Hour is a great place to meet new people and learn something new! Programs are held each month February through October from 5:30-7:30pm.

Registration is required as seating is limited (36 people max).

$15/person admission price will include: snacks and wine and a walk through of the historic Ainsley House. Please note that these programs will be for ages 21 and over.

ABOUT THE CAMPBELL HISTORICAL MUSEUM & AINSLEY HOUSE

The mission of the Campbell Historical Museum & Ainsley House is to interpret the history of the Campbell area from its pioneer beginnings through today, and to relate that history within the broader context of the Santa Clara Valley and encompassing region.

The museums are open Thursday – Sunday, noon – 4 p.m. with the last Ainsley House tour at 3:15 p.m. Admission to the Historical Museum is $2.

Admission to the Ainsley House is $6, $5 for seniors. A combination ticket is available for $7, $6 for seniors. www.cityofcampbell.com/museum/index.htm
