Creating a Worldwide Player in Prunes

In 1919, the SUNSWEET Brand started in Campbell under a co-op of farmers called the California Prune and Apricot Growers Association.

According to their website, Sunsweet has grown into the world's largest handler of dried tree fruits including cranberries, apricots and prunes and controls about a third of the prune market worldwide.

The city of Campbell wil be celebrating Campbell's 60th anniversary on March 28, 10:30 a.m. with a small reception at City Hall in front of the glass cabinets outside of council chambers.
