SAN JOSE, CA — A 19-year-old Cupertino man has been arrested in connection with a string of sexual assaults, including at a prominent Bay Area mall, police said Tuesday.

Police say Josiah Adorno attacked a woman outside the Westfield Valley Fair mall in San Jose on the night of March 19.

He sexually assaulted her over her clothing before she fell to the ground and fought him off, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Adorno ran off before police arrived, and the woman, who suffered minor injuries during the struggle, was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

The 19-year-old was identified as a suspect in the assault and was linked to at least two other similar battery cases in the city of San Jose, police said, adding that detectives obtained enough probable cause for an arrest warrant against him.
