Merryhill Schools Donate 200+ Food Items to Local Food Bank

Students collected nonperishable food donations to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank

Students at Merryhill Preschool and Merryhill Elementary School in San Jose recently donated more than 200 food items to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. The donations were a result of a school-wide food drive to support local families in need during the holiday season. At the close of the drive, students helped load the items into vehicles for pickup. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to others in the community.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties works to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one. It is one of the largest food banks in the nation and provides food to more than a quarter of a million people in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties every month. More than half of the people served are kids and seniors.
