Police said they are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run collision that occurred outside Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center on Saturday.

Around 11:30 a.m., an 89-year-old man was walking through parking lot D at the hospital, located at 700 Lawrence Expressway, where he was struck by a car, police said. The driver stepped out of the car and made contact with the elderly man, according to police.

Afterwards, the driver went to the hospital where he spoke with two volunteers, police said. He then left the lobby and drove away from the hospital, police said. The elderly man, a Santa Clara resident, was hospitalized for serious injuries that were not considered life threatening, according to police.
