San Jose High School Earns Top National Ranking by U.S. News

Summit Tahoma Ranked in Top 12% of High Schools Nationally

Summit Tahoma, located in San Jose, was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as among the best high schools in the country, ranking in the top 12% nationally and among California high schools. The school stood out as the 26th best high school in the San Jose metro area.

U.S. News looked at over 24,000 schools in the country and ranked about 17,860 based on five indicators: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, and graduation rates.

Summit Public Schools, a public school system with schools in California and Washington, has made the U.S. News & World Report rankings every year since 2009. This year Summit’s four eligible high schools ranked within the top 12% of the national rankings: Summit Shasta in Daly City, Summit Prep and Everest in Redwood City and Summit Tahoma in San Jose. Summit Shasta ranked in the top 3% and Summit Summit Prep ranked in the top 5% nationwide.
