Inaugural nonstop flights from San Jose to Vancouver are launching today, giving flyers an opportunity to visit or do business in Canada.

SAN JOSE - Inaugural nonstop flights from San Jose to Vancouver are launching today, giving flyers an opportunity to visit the country's neighbor to the north.
The flights through Air Canada last about two hours on average between Mineta San Jose International Airport and Vancouver International Airport.
The new connection is one of many new direct international destinations at Mineta San Jose International Airport that started in the past year.

The airport started direct service to London's Heathrow International Airport last week.

The first flight from Vancouver was scheduled to arrive in San Jose at 10:52 a.m. and the inaugural trip departing from San Jose was slated to leave at 11:35 a.m.
The trip will be made twice a day on a Bombardier CRJ-705 that seats 75 people, airport officials said.
