Woman Killed With Machete In Bay Area Home Identified: Police

Police said the woman's husband was arrested after a friend reported receiving a photo of her body.

SAN JOSE, CA — Authorities have identified the woman who was found dead inside a San Jose home earlier this month after prosecutors said her husband killed her with a machete.

Xuan Zhang, 49, was found dead June 15 inside a home on the 5800 block of Snell Avenue, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said officers responded after a friend of Zhang's husband, 55-year-old Shede Mao, contacted police. The friend reported receiving a photo of Zhang's body, officials said.
