$20K Reward Offered For Man In 2014 Shooting Death Of Girl, 4

The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward in exchange for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Watsonville last year that killed two people, including a 4-year-old girl, and wounded another, FBI officials said.

On Oct. 10, Marcos Robles, 23, allegedly participated in a shooting at the Valley Inn Motel at 970 Main St. in Watsonville, according to FBI officials. Robles is accused of killing 33-year-old Ramon Rendon, of Watsonville, in the motel’s parking lot. FBI officials allege Rendon belonged to a rival gang. Jaelyn Zavala, 4, and 26-year-old Emanuel Hernandez, both also of Watsonville, were struck when bullets went into a nearby restaurant, according to FBI officials. Jaelyn died from her injuries at a hospital, while Hernandez survived.

On Feb. 18, a Santa Cruz County Superior Court judge issued an arrest warrant for Robles after he was charged with two counts of murder, FBI officials said.

FBI investigators believe Robles may have fled to Mexico. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Robles on May 15 in U.S. District Court after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, according to FBI officials. Robles is described as a Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

He has tattoos of the letter C on both his left and right shins and a tattoo with the phrase “Life’s a Bitch” on the side of his right hand, according to the FBI. FBI officials said Robles should be considered armed and dangerous and may have suicidal tendencies.
