5 Happy Hour Deals You Don't Want to Miss
One of the best reasons to visit the swanky esplanade in Capitola is to duck into a mid-week happy hour for food and drink specials, such as $2 tacos and $1 margaritas.

Paradise Beach Grille in the Capitola Village is serious about its happy hour, which happens Monday through Friday from 4-6 p.m. Its specials include $3 draft beers, $4 well drinks and $4.50 house wines. Of course, you can't have drinks without food, and Paradise is aware of that, too. Its bar menu is also half price, with beach burgers, garlic fries, chicken wings, chicken skewers and much more. The restaurant’s full appetizer menu is also served during these hours if you feel like impressing your date with something a little more gourmet—not that the beach burger doesn’t hit the spot every time. Margaritaville spices up its happy hour Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. Drink specials include the famous margaritas priced at $4, as well as $3 beers and $4 well drinks. The happy hour menu includes items such as calamari, nachos, flautas, onion rings and chalupas, all fairly priced at $4 each. It also serves crispy chicken or beef tacos for $2, in case you feel like smaller bite to pair with your tequila. Margaritaville is at 231 Esplanade, Capitola. 831-476-2263.
The Fog Bank, often referred to as “Capitola’s funnest bar & grille” by locals, offers a casual weekday retreat between 3-6 p.m. All draft beers are $3, and well drinks are $3.75. An open-air deck overlooking Soquel Creek makes this a great hangout on a sunny afternoon. The kitchen is open until 4 p.m., with breakfast served until 1 p.m. every day. Zelda's on the Beach gets its party started early with happy hour taking place from 2:30-5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Specials include $3 draft beers, $3 house wines and $1.99 margaritas—yes, $1.99 margaritas. The afternoon menu is served at half price during happy hour and includes nachos, burgers, salads, calamari and, of course, Zelda’s famous clam chowder. Bay Bar & Grill celebrates happy hour from 4-7 p.m. Beer is priced at $3, and well drinks are $4. Food is available as well, with Bay Bar's sliders and Ahi Tower among some of the most popular choices, along with french fries and onion rings.
