Girl, 8, Bakes Cookies For Gilroy First Responders
In was a sweet moment in what has otherwise been a difficult week across the region.

CAPITOLA, CA ā First responders from across Santa Cruz County and Northern California have stood by Gilroy in the wake of Sunday's tragic shooting ā with many agencies sending crews to the scene.
But it's not just police and fire who are showing up.
Thursday, the San Benito County Sheriff's Office posted a touching photo and story to social media that showed one of Capitola's own ā and a very thoughtful 8-year-old girl:

Deputy Espejo, Deputy Leist and Capitola Police Officer Anderson were fortunate to meet this beautiful young lady yesterday outside of Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy," the post reads. "Arianne Jauch, who is 8 years old, made a plate of cookies for the first responders keeping her neighborhood safe. She lives very near the site of the shooting.
Her mother, Aicha, said, 'It was all her idea. She sees all of the police from everywhere and the FBI and ATF and she wanted to make something nice, cause you guys are away from your families so that you can help ours.'
Arianneās father served our country in the military, so she has a special spot in her heart for first responders. We have a special spot in ours now for this sweetheart. What an amazing example of selflessness. Thanks Arianne!!! You made our day.
