8th Annual "A Taste of Soquel" to Benefit Second Harvest Food Bank

A Taste of Soquel takes place September 24.

The 8th annual A Taste of Soquel will take place Sunday, September 24 from 11am to 4pm at the Congregational Church of Soquel and benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, which works to end hunger and malnutrition in Santa Cruz County.

A Taste of Soquel has already raised over $52,479 for the Food Bank—that’s 209,916 healthy meals for families in Santa Cruz County! The Congregational Church of Soquel and the Capitola/Soquel Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring this event.

Live Music: There is something for everyone! Ralph Anybody, KPIG DJ, will emcee the live music by renowned local musicians. This year A Taste of Soquel is pleased to feature bands all new to our stage.

· 12:30 pm Eric Morrison & the Mysteries

· 1:45 pm Red Beans & Rice — the event headliner Red Beans & Rice blends original compositions and lesser-known classics into an uptempo, danceable gumbo of New Orleans-influenced, Blues-inspired, Party Music suitable for dancing or just listening & Tapping!

· 3:05 pm UTURN

Local Restaurant participants: Café Cruz, Sawasdee, La Gioconda, The Kitchen @ Discretion, Fish Lady, Café D’Anna, and Aldo's Bakery will be serving up food tastes especially prepared for this event.

Soquel Vintners & Brewery: Soquel Cider by Everett Family Farm, Discretion Brewing, Soquel Vineyards, Wargin Wines, Bargetto Winery, Hunter Hill Vineyard & Winery, and Poetic Cellars will pour fan favorites!

Farm Fresh!: Featuring local, farm fresh tastings from Fogline Farm and Jeff Walls' Family Honey.

Raffle: Over 50 local businesses have donated raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will be available at the event.

In addition, there will be the KidZone, complete with Music Together, African Drumming with Ibou, games by Kennolyn Camps, art by Cherryvale Art Farm, and the list goes on! You'll also want to check out the hospitality table with complimentary coffee provided by the Ugly Mug, tea, lemonade, ice water and food offerings from the Bagelry, Donut Station and others.

Guests can purchase a wristband for an entire day of Food & Music for the Common Good.

Adults $25: Includes Music & Tasting at all Food & Wine Booths

Youth Ages 12-20: $10—Music & Food only

Free Activities for Children ~ Courtesy Refreshments for all
