Armed Man Holds Up Pharmacy In Watsonville

The robbery was Tuesday night at Rite Aid on Freedom.

Police this morning are investigating a Tuesday night armed robbery in Watsonville.

Officers responded at 8:15 p.m. to the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1988 Freedom Blvd. to a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

Rite Aid employees told police a man entered the store, approached the employees in the pharmacy department, displayed a firearm and demanded prescription drugs.

The pharmacy staff gave the man an undisclosed amount of medications, and the suspect fled the area, police said.
