Soccer Photos: Soquel vs Santa Cruz (Jan. 22)

Soquel Knights (home team) vs Santa Cruz Cardinals on Tuesday Jan 22nd, game ended in a tie (1-1)

Soquel Knights came out strong w/ #16 scoring early off a corner kick. Santa Cruz Cardinals rallied hard but could not score before the end of the 1st half. Soquel Knights thought they had scored a 2nd goal at the beginning of the 2nd half, only to be called back due to a Knight being offside.

Santa Cruz Cardinals managed to get around the Knight's defenders and secure a goal toward the end of the 2nd half. Soquel Knights tried hard to make their long ball play work and had one last steller effort by #15 who caused the Cardinals to bobble the ball in their back field.

#15 out ran all defenders, made the perfect cross but not enough offensive players rushed the goal  to capture the end of that cross.  A great game to watch, but in the end the Cardinals were well organized and maintained possession during a majority of this game.
