Capitola Chamber Names Community Award Winners
A handful of locals were awarded for their contributions to the community on Friday

It's always nice to feel recognized, and on Friday, the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce tipped its cap to five locals making a difference at its annual Community Awards.
This year's recipients were:
Man of the Year: Jamie Goldstein
Goldstein is the city manager of Capitola, who was faced with the task of getting the city through its worst tragedy in decades, in March that destroyed several businesses and left Capitola's budget in a precarious situation.

Woman of the Year: Lynn Falcon
Falcon has worked with Comerica Bank for 31 years and serves on the chamber's board of directors. The Santa Cruz County native was instrumental in putting on last year's .
Business of the Year:
Represented by Mike McCallum in the picture above, Whole Foods has only been in Capitola for two years but is already deeply entrenched in the community, constantly putting on events that benefit non-profits including Second Harvest Food Bank and Grind Out Hunger.

Lifetime Achievement: Carin Hanna
Hanna is the owner of the and . She is the longest-standing member of the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce, having joined in the late 1960s.
Volunteer of the Year: Anna Marie Gotti
Gotta is active with the Red Cross and was instrumental in organizing the and . Her bake sale at the event alone brought in over $1,600.
