After announcing 100 to 120 Sears and Kmart stores would close due to declining sales and a lackluster holiday season, Sears Holding Corporation released a list of the first 80 store closures.
Capitola’s Sears was among those spared. In addition to Capitola staying open, and were not one of the three California stores slated to shut down.
The timeline for releasing the remaining 20 to 40 closures was not announced.
