Central Fire District Board Member Announces Retirement
Denise Miller served as member of Central Fire's Board of Directors for ten years
Central Fire District Board of Directors member Denise Miller has announced her retirement after serving on the board since 2000.
Between 2001 and 2003, Miller acted as the chairperson of the Central Fire's board.
During her years of service, Miller was involved in a variety of projects. One plan she worked on was to consolidate the Central and Aptos La Selva Fire Districts. In addition, she helped with the plan to rebuild or relocate the Central Fire District's Station 3 in Soquel.

Miller was a member of several committees, which included finance, strategic planning and appeals.
The environment was an important issue to Miller, and she worked toward fire district solutions that had a "greener" and environmentally friendly approach.

A replacement for Miller has not been determined. The Central Fire District says applications for a new board member are being reviewed and a candidate will be selected "in the near future."
